Tax Planning & Advisory

Plan the number before the deadline forces it on you.

Proactive tax planning throughout the year, not just at filing time: estimated payments, retirement and investment timing, entity decisions, and the moves that only work if you make them before December 31.

Tax filing reports what already happened. Planning is the only part of this work that can still change the outcome, which is why we treat it as an ongoing relationship, not a once-a-year meeting.

  • Quarterly estimated tax planning
  • Year-end tax-saving strategy sessions
  • Life-event planning: home purchase, marriage, business sale

Who this is for

  • Business owners deciding on entity structure or compensation
  • Anyone who consistently owes money or gets hit with penalties
  • People with a major life event coming up (sale, marriage, retirement)
  • Investors or equity-compensated employees with timing decisions to make

What's included

Quarterly estimated tax planning

Calculated and adjusted through the year, not guessed at once and forgotten.

Year-end strategy session

A dedicated review before December 31, while there is still time to act on what we find.

Entity and compensation planning

For business owners, a regular check on whether your structure and pay are still working in your favor.

Life-event planning

Home purchase, marriage, business sale, or retirement account withdrawal, planned around instead of reacted to.

Scenarios we handle every week

You keep owing money or getting hit with penalties

We recalculate your withholding or estimated payments so April stops being a surprise.

You are selling a business or a property

We model the tax impact before the sale closes, while there are still options.

Your income jumped this year

Bonus, equity vesting, or a strong year in the business: we plan around it before year-end, not after.

How it works

01

Tell us your situation

A short intake covering your income sources, states involved, and any notices or deadlines already on the table.

02

We build your plan

Our team reviews your situation and puts together the right approach, whether that means a return, a resolution case, or an ongoing engagement, then flags anything that needs your input.

03

You review and approve

We walk through the plan and the numbers with you before anything is filed or submitted. Questions get answered, not deferred.

04

We execute and confirm

Returns filed, cases submitted, or books closed, with confirmation and copies delivered to you.

Frequently asked questions

Who needs quarterly estimated tax payments?

Anyone without enough tax withheld during the year, most commonly the self-employed, freelancers, business owners, and people with significant investment or rental income. Missing them can trigger an IRS underpayment penalty even if you pay in full by April.

What is the difference between tax planning and tax filing?

Tax filing reports what already happened last year. Tax planning happens during the year, while there is still time to change the outcome: timing income, harvesting losses, adjusting retirement contributions, or restructuring a business before December 31.

When should I start tax planning for a big life event?

Before it happens if possible. A home sale, marriage, business sale, or retirement account withdrawal can all be planned around to reduce the tax hit, but most of those moves stop being available once the transaction is done.

How often do we actually meet?

At minimum, a mid-year check-in and a year-end planning session. More often if your situation is changing.

Is tax planning worth it if I have a simple return?

If your income and situation are stable and simple, probably not. It earns its cost once there is a decision to make: a raise, a business, a sale, a retirement withdrawal.

Do you only work with business owners?

No. Individuals with equity compensation, rental property, or a major life event coming up benefit from planning too.
